My Triple Choice Tuesday at Reading Matters

Triple Choice TuesdayAs something of a fan of Reading Matters I was both flattered and delighted to be asked by Kim, whose blog it is, to write a piece for her occasional Triple Choice Tuesday spot She’s been running the feature for a while with contributions from the likes of Desperate Reader, Dovegreyreader and Tales from the Reading Room not to mention authors such as Liz Jensen and Georgina Harding. In it, contributors write about their favourite book – always a tough choice – a book that changed their world and one which they feel deserves more attention. Today’s the day my contribution goes up so if you’d like to see what I’ve chosen and catch up with archived Triple Chose Tuesday posts why not mosey along to Reading Matters. Many thanks from me to Kim for the opportunity to take part.

I loved that Siri Hustvedt book – I was a bit frightened that she might be too clever to be enjoyable, but I was just so impressed by the world she created: I found myself becoming so involved in the characters’ lives. I’m looking forward to reading her new one.

So glad you liked What I Loved, Vicki. You’re quite right about the way in which she draws her readers into her characters’ lives and I loved her descriptions of Bill’s art. The Blazing World is very different – not a book to read if you’re looking for linear narrative – but also very good.
