Sounds intriguing, Susan, especially your comment about the ending! Do you think this would be suitable for teenagers or is it firmly in adult territory?
I love books that leave you with an ending to think about. But, I’m not letting any of our posties get anywhere near it. We have had problems locally with mail going missing and I don’t want to give them any more encouragement 🙂
Dellighted to read your positive review as I’m just trying to find a reviewer for this one for SNB! If it has to be me, I shan’t be disappointed. It’s also a beautiful little book, isn’t it? A properly lovely object.
I am definitely buying this in France !
Looking forward to hearing what you think about the French version, Helen.

No, I’d say this one’s for adults, Jacqui. Still thinking about the ending!

Oh dear! It might turn them into poetry-loving posties, Alex.
Ok I give in -you’re lured me in with the ending mystery – It’s going on the wish list!
Hurrah! You won’t regret it….

I think you’d like this, Victoria, and I’d love to know what you think of the ending – in confidence, of course!
Bilodo – billet doux. I guess the French don’t find email romantic. 😉
Well spotted, Paula! I’m an ignorant monolinguist and it passed me by. It makes me wonder what how the book reads in the original.
I’ve had this recommended and shall have to find a copy, sounds delightful.
It is, Claire. I’ll be interested to know how the French edition reads.
Oh this book was stunning! The most I’ve enjoyed a book in ages!
It’s a little gem, isn’t it. I was pleased to see it in several booksellers’ promotions, too. I hope lots of people bought it.
