I ended 2017, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 with this meme having been prompted by a post from at least one blogger, usually Annabel who was quick off the mark again this year. I’ve used last year’s prompts (I suspect I nicked them from Annabel) drawing on the titles of books I’ve read in 2023 with links to any I’ve reviewed on the blog.
In high school I was Outlawed
People might be surprised by Falling Animals
I will never be Miss Iceland
My fantasy job is The Librarianist
At the end of a long day I need Humankind
I hate being Out of Touch
Wish I had Fierce Attachments
My family reunions are Games and Rituals
At a party you’ll find me with Friends and Strangers
I’ve never been to A Town Called Solace
A happy day includes Temptation
Motto I live by Stay True
On my bucket list is Nothing but Blue Sky
In my next life I want to have The Answer to Everything
That’s it for 2023. A very happy 2024 to you all, reading and otherwise!
Well done, and thanks for reminding me about this fun way of reviewing the year, which I did for the first time last year – no, wait, much earlier THIS year.
Such an enjoyable way to end the blogging year! I hope I’ve tempted you to join in.
Definitely.
Hurrah!
Love the Falling Animals answer!
Ha! Brilliant book, and the cover, too. I had to give it another outing.
Wishing you many wonderful reads in 2024 Susan!
Thank you, Madame Bibi, and to you, too!
You’ve included some great books here – I loved Games & Rituals and Nothing But Blue Sky. The Librarianist is on my reading list.
It’s been another great reading year! I read MacMahon’s The Home Scar recently which is equally as good. Heiney really cheers me up.
That last book made me smile.
It seemed appropriate!
Thanks for the link! Your choices remind me I have the Dewitt, Armstrong and Miss Iceland in my piles to read. Love the last one in particular.
You’re welcome, and thank you. I hope you enjoy the Dewitt when you get to it.
The perfect fantasy job for you!
That one did turn out well, didn’t it!
Well played! Hope your blue skies begin in 2024!
Thank you!
Nicely done Susan! Loved those responses. Alas I am unlikely to be Miss Iceland either but wish I had the answers to everything in this life, or am able to find out how 42 can help 😀 Happy New Year to you and yours!
So do I! Thanks, Mallika, and a happy and peaceful New Year to you and yours, too.
There Susan. You did tempt me. Here it is: https://margaret21.com/2024/01/01/my-year-in-2023-a-work-of-fiction/ . Happy reading in ’24!
I’m very glad I did, and the same to you!
So smart! Thanks for sharing this. And for sharing talk of so many outstanding books and writers. I hope you have a grand year in 2024!
Thank you, Marcie, and for reading and commenting on my blog throughout the year. A very happy 2024 to you, reading and otherwise!
Neat!
